Nicky Click
Nicky Click is in a cult of one where she's both the devotee and the idol: while she speak-sings about her life as a queer femme over aerobicized electro and boudoir hip-hop, she screens sassy, punky, color-saturated music videos she directed, starring herself. But her diva posturing is actually charming—and funny, like she means it to be—because she pulled it out of the oven before the timer went off. She opens for touchy-feely trans-man MC Katastrophe as part of a benefit hosted by WLUW's Think Pink Radio for the city's first Queerfest Midwest, scheduled for August 25; DJ Connor spins at the dance party afterward.
