Crunks Not Dead is an exciting independent record label run by a collective group of individuals.
This hot new Olympia, WA based label is home to queer feminist bands Scream Club and Nicky Click, as well as Sandman, Log Hog and Timezone lafontaine.
The mission of Crunks Not Dead is to sprinkle the world with positive messages and bits of magic via inclucisve meaningful musical presentation and content. Crunks Not Dead was born out of a pure love of music and its participants on a grassroots level. This manifested into a label which strives to act as a larger community springboard for the resouceful underdog and creative risktaker.
The Collective goal is to provide resources and share hard earned knowledge to eager artists who are looking to find an alternate roote in the conformative "music industry." Crunks Not Dead encourages music and artists which have an understanding of opression and the negative role it plays in all of our lives.
The label supports queers, women, persons of color and other idenity groups to access music and creativity as an empowering way to break down walls and air their voice. The labels intent is to influence audiences and listeners to learn, grow and share, by providing fun spirited music with indepth emotional and political complexities rare for the electro-hop genre.
This is a label full of motivated people who are not afraid to dream big. Crunks Not Dead is the spearhead of the next big dance party, and promises to bring you the most inventive original electronic and hip hop beats matched with raps, hooks and catchy songs, you will ever hear.
